Maria Miller

The Rt. Hon. Maria Miller MP - President

The Rt. Hon. Maria Miller MP was elected the President of the CDG in March 2017. Maria was born in Wolverhampton on 26 March 1964. She is married to Iain Miller and they have three children, one daughter and two sons.

Paul Bristow MP is the CDG's Parliamentary Champion in the House of Commons. Paul was elected as the Conservative MP for Peterborough at the 2019 General Election gaining the seat off the Labour incumbent with a swing of 3.3%.

Jeremy Balfour MSP

Jeremy Balfour MSP - Parliamentary Champion in the Scottish Parliament

Jeremy Balfour was elected as a Member of the Scottish Parliament in May 2016.  He is a member of the Scottish Parliament Social Security Committee and is the Scottish Conservative Party Spokesperson for Social Security and disability.

Lord Shinkwin

Lord Shinkwin - Parliamentary Champion in the House of Lords

Kevin Shinkwin was created a Life Peer, taking the title Lord Shinkwin, in October 2015. Since becoming a Peer, he has focused on disability equality issues, combating antisemitism and the importance for UK democracy of respecting the people’s vote in the referendum of 2016.

Barry Ginley was elected as the Deputy Chairman of the CDG in March 2018, having been on the executive for the past eight years.

David Tiptaft CBE

David Tiptaft CBE - Treasurer & Deputy-President

David Tiptaft CBE is a long standing Executive Member of the CDG Executive and is the Treasurer. David has held a variety of senior positions in the voluntary party. He is a Chartered Accountant and is the present principal of Tiptaft, Smith Co based in Mexborough South Yorkshire.

Karim Sacoor

Karim Sacoor - Deputy President & Executive Member

Karim Sacoor is a former Chairman of the CDG and is a member of the Executive Committee. He is a businessman and is married with two children. His son is severely autistic, with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour.

Sally Elliot - Executive Member

During the 1980s Sally founded, wrote the Constitution and secured the approval of the Charity Commissioners for AGE CONCERN FERNDOWN & DISTRICT, which is still functioning with two separate day time clubs for the elderly with lunch and entertainment.
