CDG Policy Forum: Workers & Families - A Q&A with CDG Members Najma Begum & Jonathan Andrews. Chaired by Michelle Lowe

The CDG CPF Group will be discussing the Conservative Policy Forum's paper on Workers and Families.

The event will be Chaired by our Policy Lead, Michelle Lowe with the following panelists:

  • Najma Begum - A CDG  Member, Founder of EPIC (Empower, Promote, Inspire & Consult) - Focuses on Community and Wellbeing.
  • Jonathan Andrews - A CDG Member and Jonathan is a trustee of national autism charity Ambitious about Autism, which runs Treehouse school and other autism-friendly schools, while holding down a job as a trainee solicitor.

He is passionate about showing employers the benefits of hiring disabled people, not just because it's the right thing to do, but because of the drive and determination often built up from living with a disability which are an asset to any workplace.

He has won international recognition for his campaigning, including European Campaigner of the Year 2016 and a Commonwealth Queen's Young Leader award in 2017.

Jonathan joined the Executive of the CDG in April 2018 and spoke at the CDG's 2018 fringe event at the Conservative Party Conference, titled, 'How do we make society more inclusive of people with invisible disabilities?' 

In 2019 Jonathan was named one of the most influential disabled people in the UK for a second year in a row, securing a place on the highly prestigious Shaw Trust Power List 2019.
